Platform Frame is the method of Timber Frame Construction employed by Thermatech. Each level is built to be load-bearing, carrying the weight from structures above and resisting the forces of nature.
Typical construction sequence for a two storey dwelling
On a square level concrete base...
- Lay DPC
- Level and fix sole plates, checking for square
- Erect ground floor wall panels and check for plumb
- Fix header plate to panels, lap all joints in wall panels for rigidity
- Fix treated ring beam to floor and install all joists and hangars.
- Lay weather-protected floor decking, glue all joints
- Erect first floor wall panels and check for plumb, fix header plate
- Install roof trusses, beams, loose rafters etc.
- Fit gable panels and check for plumb, install gable ladders
- Brace roof structure
- Fix soffit and fascia boards
- Fix cavity fire stops
